Membership

Church membership is a covenant to follow Jesus with a specific local church.

A Covenant Commitment

Church membership is a covenant commitment to follow Jesus together with a local church. It is how our faith becomes visible, accountable, and lived out in real relationships (Acts 2:41–47). It clarifies who belongs to the church, establishes mutual responsibility between members and leaders (Heb. 13:17), and provides the context for discipleship, care, and discipline (Matt. 18:15–17; Gal. 6:1–2). In the New Testament, the Christian life is not lived in isolation, but in committed, identifiable community under Christ’s authority (1 Cor. 12:12–27; Eph. 4:11–16).

Our Membership Process

We aim to make membership clear, careful, and congregational:

1. Watch the Membership Class [Insert Link to Videos]

You’ll learn:

  • What we expect (covenant commitments)
  • What we believe (doctrine)
  • Who we are (mission and values)
  • How we function (leadership and governance)

This class ensures you understand who we are before joining.

2. Complete Membership Application

You’ll submit a written testimony of your conversion and baptism, express agreement with our statement of faith and church covenant, and share any areas of ministry you’re interested in.

Your written testimony helps us discern a credible profession of faith.

3. Pastoral Interview

You’ll meet with a pastor/elder to:

  • Share your testimony personally
  • Explain your understanding of the gospel
  • Ask any remaining questions

This is a relational and pastoral step, not a test.

4. Congregational Affirmation

Your name and testimony are presented to the church, and the congregation affirms you into membership. This reflects our conviction that the final responsibility for membership belongs to the gathered church, not just its leaders.
